Peru continue the search for the first win in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers on Tuesday when they face Ecuador in Quito.
Ecuador shone at the Qatar 2022 World Cup and have continued to cause problems for several nations in recent months. Ecuador's most recent success came at the Copa America, where the Tricolor reached the quarter-finals. Sebastián Beccacece's men held Argentina to a 1-1 draw before losing on penalties, a shock from which they have yet to recover.
Peru, meanwhile, missed out on the last World Cup and didn't fare well in the Copa America either. La Blanquirroja continued their poor form in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with a 1-1 draw at home to Colombia last time out. But having avoided defeat in each of their last three meetings with Ecuador, Jorge Fossati's side will fancy their chances of securing their first win in this competition on Tuesday.
Ecuador vs Peru Betting Tips: Draw & Under 2.5 goals
With both nations struggling for wins at the moment, it’s hard to decide which side Tuesday’s game will go and I fancy a draw.
Ecuador enter Tuesday’s game with a run of three consecutive games without a win (two draws and one defeat). They failed to score in two of those encounters but at least not many goals were given away as all three encounters ended with under 2.5 goals.
Peru can’t equally score goals right now. Indeed, La Blanquirroja didn’t score more than once in each of their last six games across all competitions. None of those fixtures produced more than two goals.
- Best Tip: Under 2.5 goals
- Ecuador vs Peru prediction: 1-1

Ecuador team news
Angelo Preciado will be unavailable to Ecuador head coach Sebastián Beccacece on Tuesday due to injury.
Preciado picked up a knee injury in August while playing for Czech First League side Sparta Praha and is sidelined for a few weeks.
The hosts will continue to rely on the services of experienced forward Enner Valencia who is likely to be supported in the final third by Kevin Rodríguez, while Moisés Caicedo will be the man to watch in the middle of the park.

Peru team news
Despite suffering a late equalizer from Colombia in their last World Cup Qualifier, Peru head coach Jorge Fossati could field a similar lineup to the one that impressed throughout that encounter.
Alexander Callens was impressive in that encounter, finding the back of net for only the second time in his international career, and the defender is likely to start here.
